Political leaders file nomination papers for Delhi Assembly Polls

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Political leaders from Congress and BJP on Wednesday filed their nomination papers for Delhi Assembly polls. Today is the last day for filing the nomination papers for the polls and the scrutiny of nominations papers would be done on January 22 while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is January 24. Congress leader Ajay Maken filed his papers and said that he is ready for a debate with the AAP and BJP Candidates. Party's Kiran Walia also expressed confidence in the performance of Congress. BJP leader Vijender Gupta also talked about the works he envisions for Delhi and wishes to do for the national capital and his constituency. Jan 21, 2015

BJP announces Kiran Bedi's name as chief ministerial candidate for Delhi polls

New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced former IPS Officer and anti-graft activist Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate for Delhi assembly polls. The announcement was made by BJP Chief Amit Shah at party's headquarters. She will contest from the Krishna Nagar seat. The BJP also released the names of 61 other candidates who will contest the elections. Former student leader Nupur Sharma will contest against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat. Senior leader Jagdish Mukhi will contest from the Janakpuri seat, while former Delhi BJP Chief Vijendra Gupta will contest from Rohini. Was pushed, did not slap anyone: BJP councillor

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party councillor Neeraj Gupta on Wednesday denied that he had slapped a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) junior engineer, adding that he had been pushed in the crowd. A video clip earlier in the day, showed Gupta, who is the councillor for Ward 188, slapping the junior engineer, surrounded by people, in Sangam Vihar East area in south Delhi where he had gone to stop an unauthorized construction. The video soon went viral. The MCD official had come to stop the unauthorized construction in the area. Jan 14, 2015

Delhi BJP Councillor caught on camera slapping MCD Junior Engineer

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): BJP's Delhi Councillor from Ward Number 188 Neeraj Gupta has invited trouble for the BJP in the poll bound national capital as he was caught slapping a MCD Junior Engineer. The BJP Councillor from Sangam Vihar East area slapped the Junior Engineer after a tiff over an unauthorised construction in the area. The Engineer had reportedly come to put a stop to unauthorized construction in the area. Meanwhile, BJP leader Nalin Kohli said that no person or any public figure should slap anybody.
