Govt launches eBiz portal to improve Indias rank on ease of doing business index

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): In a bid to improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index, central government launched a business portal in New Delhi. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched the single window government-to-business (G2B) portal, www.ebiz.gov.in, for 11 central government services. He said that an ideal country is the one where businessmen do not have to visit the corridors of power to get their work done. Jaitley hoped that the eBiz portal would improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index. New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley has said that India has enough raw material to provide clean power to the entire country. Jaitley made the statement at 'RE-Invest', first global renewable energy meet and expo, attended by over 200 investors, 350 exhibitors and 1,000 delegates among senior ministers of the government. The central theme of the conference is to attract large scale investments for renewable energy sector in India. India is seeking investments of $100 billion over seven years to boost the country's renewable energy capacity by 33 times to 100,000 megawatts. RE-Invest will be the first major platform for investment promotion which signals India's commitment to the development and scaling up of renewable energy to meet its energy requirement in a sustainable manner. New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): United Nations Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change, Michael Bloomberg met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Bloomberg, also the founder of financial software, data and media company Bloomberg LP, had earlier met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu, with bids to help India develop smart cities. PM Modi termed his meeting with former New York City mayor as very productive, adding that the two leaders would work together to take forward the 'Smart Cities' initiative. The Prime Minister took to twitter to share news of the meeting. "My friend @MikeBloomberg and I had a great meeting! We will work together to advance the Smart Cities Initiative," he posted.
