Kolkata, Jan 16 (ANI): Lawyer Subhrojit Bahaduri filed a petition on Friday Kolkata High Court seeking removal of Madan Mitra from the post of state Transport Minister as he is in jail in the Saradha chit fund case. He cannot also perform his duties as a minister from behind the bars, the petitioner said. Stating that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not yet removed Mitra from her Cabinet, the petitioner requested for the court's intervention to direct the state government to remove Mitra. BJP files defamation case against Kejriwal over allegations against Upadhyay

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): BJP delegation on Thursday visited Election Commission office to file defamation case against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal over the allegations against Delhi BJP Chief Satish Upadhyay. Lawyer in the case said that the dates for Delhi polls have been announced and that model code of conduct does not allow any political leader to indict allegations on personal affairs of his rival. The EC assured of looking in the matter and acting thereafter. Ganga Cleaning Project: SC directs shutting down of industries with no treatment plants

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Supreme Court directed the shutting down of industries with no treatment plants in Uttar Pradesh to clean river Ganga on Monday. The order came after the government informed SC about the industries with no treatment plants.
