The bombs were allegedly stocked by some villagers following a clash with another group. Three houses caved in due to the impact of the explosion. Police said that death toll could rise, as some of the people were feared to be trapped under the debris. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and rushed the injured to nearby hospital. According to reports, the blasts took place when bombs exploded accidentally while they were being assembled at a house in Idinthakarai village.
