Mumbai/ New Delhi/ Chennai, Oct 04 (ANI): Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar defended decision of state-run television channel Doordarshan (DD) to broadcast speech of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat live on the occasion of Dussehra festival. Doordarshan for the first time carried Bhagwat address to the RSS members live on the 89th Foundation Day celebrations, where he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reacting on the same, CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat sought an apology from the I and B minister. Meanwhile, DMK leader TKS Elangovan said it could set a bad precedent. Delhi HC asks OP Chautala to surrender before Oct 17, politicos react

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): In a major blow to former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, who has been convicted in JBT recruitment scam case, the Delhi High Court has asked him to surrender on or before October 17. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief is currently out of prison on bail on health grounds. The INLD leader recently addressed a political rally in Haryana's Jind town where he slammed the Congress government for sending him to jail by implicating him in JBT scam. Chautala even vowed to take oath in jail if his party emerged winner in the assembly polls. Meanwhile, reacting over the court's direction, the BJP and Congress said that it is a legal matter and the law should take its own course. Sep 27, 2014
