BJP chooses Vijender Gupta as leader of opposition for Delhi assembly

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Vijender Gupta, one of the three successful BJP candidates in Delhi Assembly, was on Wednesday named by the party as the Leader of Opposition. Gupta, a member of the BJP's National Executive, was elected from West Delhi's Rohini constituency and has also been the president of the BJP's Delhi branch.The Bharatiya Janta Party suffered a rout in the recently held Delhi Assembly polls, with only three of its candidates securing a seat in the elections. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party won 67 out of the 70 seats on offer in the Delhi polls, becoming the first non-Congress and non-BJP party to rule the city. Feb 18, 2015

Delhi polls: Vijender Gupta thanks people, BJP after win

Feb 10 (ANI): Vijender Gupta, who is one of the three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to emerge victorious in the Delhi Assembly polls despite the Aam Admi Party's (AAP) landslide march to victory, on Tuesday said this is a victory of the people as they had immense faith in him. Gupta, who won from the Rohini Assembly constituency, also said that this is a victory of the BJP. The BJP suffered reverses in the Delhi polls as even its chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi lost from the Krishna Nagar seat. In a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, the AAP won the elections with 66 of the 70 assembly seats up for grabs. Feb 10, 2015
