Stray dogs to be sterilised in Raipur

Raipur, Feb 03 (ANI): Residents of Raipur in Chhattisgarh state are likely to breathe a sigh of relief as city municipal body began a sterilisation drive to put an end to the menace of stray dogs. The drive aims to sterilise around 2000 stray dogs in the region. It was undertaken after a few people fell prey to dog bites. City Mayor, Pramod Dubey, is hopeful that the efforts taken by the municipal body would bring some relief to locals. Meanwhile, veterinary doctor said that when the dogs are ravenous, they have tendency to bite and they prey on humans. Government district veterinary hospital has been asked to sterilise around 26-30 dogs a day. Dogs would be vaccinated against rabies after being operated upon. Feb 3, 2015
