Children to get 'Clean India' message through film festival

New Delhi, Nov 7 (ANI): Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, on Friday informed that the government would be organising a three-day National Children Film Festival (NCFF) in New Delhi. Addressing a news briefing, Javadekar said that the government is keen on promoting films for children by facilitating expansion of its reach. Javadekar said that the children's film festival culture was needed to be taken to other cities and states. He said the government would lend support to organising such film festivals. The film festival in the national capital will be held on the theme, 'Swachhta', or cleanliness. The Film and Television Institute of India will be holding cinematography workshops, puppetry and animation and best out of waste workshops for the children during the event. Nov 7, 2014

Shahnawaz Hussain receives threat call, says will not get scared

New Delhi/ Patna, Nov 03 (ANI): BJP Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain has allegedly received threat calls from Dubai for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A case has been registered after Hussain submitted a complaint at the Parliament Street police station. In his complaint, the BJP leader said he received two calls from a Dubai number when he was on his way to his residence in Delhi from the airport. India to set up centre for Zoo Sciences: Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): Environment and Forests Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday said that the government would be setting up a centre for zoo Sciences very soon. While speaking at the 69th conference of World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), Javadekar said that children are restricted to watching wildlife on television only and they should get a better understanding by visiting zoos. The minister added that the institution would act as a technical advisor to Central Zoo Authority and provide help to several states. Research work will also be conducted in the institution. Javadekar said he expects that the research work will lead to in-breeding of endangered species. New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned Sunday evening's terror attack on Pakistan side of the Wagah border, which has claimed at least 55 lives. PM Modi tweeted, "Terror attack in Pakistan near Wagah Border is shocking. I strongly condemn such a dastardly act of terrorism. My condolences to the families of the deceased. Prayers with the injured." According to reports, 110 people are injured in the explosion, which took place outside a restaurant on the Indo- Pak border, just after a daily ceremony when troops from both sides simultaneously lower the two nations' flags. The outlawed Jundullah and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) affiliated Jamaat-ul-Ahrar outfits have claimed responsibility for the blast.
