Allahabad/ Varanasi, Jan 14 (ANI): Devout Hindus across India converged on the banks of River Ganges to take holy dip, as they celebrate harvest festival Makar Sankranti, with traditional fervour. Here, a Blanket Fair is organized every year in the premises of Narsingh Temple situated 50 kilometers from Samba district of Jammu. People belonging to different communities sell and buy blankets at reasonable prices. Blanket fair or Rathkhada fair as it is popularly known is famous for the fine quality of woolen sold here. From hand woven shawls to machine made ones all were sold and bought here by people belonging to different faiths. It happens: Birth Anniversary celebrations of Sikh's tenth guru

Patna, Jan 10 (ANI): Devotees from the Sikh community revelled in festive spirit, as thousands thronged Sikh house of worship, gurdwaras, across India on Tuesday to mark the 346th birth anniversary of their tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh. Despite the bone chilling cold, devout Sikhs gathered at Takhat Patna Sahib in Patna city of India's eastern Bihar state to seek blessings from Guru Gobind Singh, where the tenth Sikh Guru was born in 1666. Every year, thousands of Sikh devotees from across the world also throng the most revered site, the Golden Temple, also known as Harminder Sahib in Amritsar city of northern Punjab province. Devout Sikhs were seen taking bath in the holy pond in the temple premises and offered prayers before the holy book. A procession was also taken out which is marked by the carrying of the Holy Scripture 'Guru Granth Sahib' in a decorated chariot.
