MTV and HUL announce six new small screen films

Mumbai, March 8 (ANI): For the very first time, MTV and Hindustan Unilever have joined hands and launched MTV films in the showbiz capital Mumbai recently. MTV Films is a unique initiative that will present six original films by six ace directors of new age Bollywood - Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Rohan Sippy, Nikhil Advani, Abhinay Deo and Shoojit Sircar. At the launch, film makers seemed quite happy and enthusiastic about this new concept.Starting March 23, 2014 at 7 PM, one movie would be aired every month, inspired by the philosophies of different HUL brands such as Sunsilk, Tresemme, Ponds, Lakme and Close Up, among others. SC rejects Sahara's repayment proposal, Subrata Roy to stay in jail

New Delhi, March 07 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday rejected Sahara Group's plea of releasing Subrata Roy and other two directors from police custody. The Court found Sahara's proposal of refunding crores of rupees to small investors in installments improper and therefore rejected it by calling it a "big insult". The apex court pulled up the Sahara chief for making bench assemble before March 11 schedule. The SC, however, allowed Sahara's financial consultants and lawyers to meet Roy in jail between 10 AM and 12 noon everyday. Mar 7, 2014

Supreme Court extends Subrata Roys police custody

New Delhi, March 04 (ANI): Sahara Group Chief Subrata Roy will remain in police custody till Tuesday next, when the case will be heard again, said Supreme Court. While ordering the custody of Roy, the court, however, clarified that it was not an order on contempt. Two more directors of the company, Ravi Shankar Dubey and Ashok Roy Chaudhary were also ordered to be taken into custody. The court said that it was not happy with the proposal of Sahara on refund of money as “they have not come up with any concrete proposal and bank guarantee.” Earlier, Roy apologised to the Supreme Court for his failure to comply with the order to appear before it.
