Mumbai, Oct 15 (ANI): The 16th Mumbai film festival (MFF) organized by the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI), began on Tuesday in Mumbai. Many B-Town stars like Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and directors like Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Hirani, attended the opening ceremony by the Indian model-actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. MFF is an international film festival which showcases films of all genres from around the world and Indian Film maker, Anurag Kashyap looked forward of watching all the international movies.185 films from 65 countries will be screened at the festival with internationally acclaimed 'Serena' starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper inaugural film at the festival. Traditional Buffalo fight thrills scores of spectators in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Oct 15 (ANI): Scores of spectators thronged to witness the thrilling one-day buffalo fighting festival organised as part of local tradition and religious belief in Himachal Pradesh. The buffalo fight organised in Poabo village nearly 10 kilometers from Shimla saw villagers coming from more than 15 villages who brought their buffalos to participate in the match. The century-old buffalo fight is performed annually and involves the specially reared animals being brought to the ring, following which they are provoked for the duel. Organiser Rameshwar Thakur believed that it is a rich heritage which they want to preserve for future generations. The tradition is also to pacify the god Saturn and villagers believe that an opportunity to watch and participate in this fighting is a way to please Saturn which would bring happiness and prosperity. PM Modi condoles death of Lok Sabha MP Kapil Krishna Thakur

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing away of Lok Sabha MP from Bongaon, Kapil Krishna Thakur. He has extended his condolences to the bereaved family of the TMC leader. According to reports, 73-year-old Thakur breathed his last in a city hospital in Kolkata on Monday. Thakur, who represented Bangaon Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, had been suffering from a lung infection. Party supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid her last respect to Thakur describing his demise as a great loss to the Matua sect of Hindus. His last rites will be performed on Wednesday.
