Politicos condemn violent clashes in Golden Temple on operation Blue Star anniversary

Amritsar /New Delhi, June 06 (ANI): Politicos on Friday condemned the violent clashes that erupted between Sikh groups in the premises of Golden Temple, on the 30th anniversary of Operation Blue Star. Clashes took place when members of the Shiromani Akali Dal-controlled SGPC protested against leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Simranjit Singh Mann, who made an attempt to give a speech from rostrum of the Sikh's supreme temporal seat, Akal Takht. Reportedly, one of Mann's supporters tried to snatch the microphone from the custodian of the Akal Takht, Giani Gurbachan Singh, in a bid to address devotees. Clashes break out in Golden Temple on 30th Anniversary of Operation Bluestar

Amritsar, June 06 (ANI): Violent clashes broke out in the premises of Golden Temple in Amritsar on Friday between members of SGPC and a Sikh radical group, injuring at least 12 people. Accoding to reports, some mediapersons were also assaulted and their cameras were broken too during the clashes. Violence erupted in Golden Temple after various groups protested Simranjit Singh Mann's attempt to give a speech from Rostrum of Akal Takht. People, especially children, rallied across cities advocating protection of environment. In Bhopal, the national museum of humankind in association with Green Planet Bicycle Riders Association organised a cycle rally to promote environmental awareness among individuals and vouched for usage of non-motorised vehicles.
