New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI) : A new study has recently revealed that self-reported daily exercise helps in reducing blood pressure and blood glucose levels.The study found that women who were consistently and even irregularly active had lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure compared with those who were completely inactive.The findings also showed that consistently and irregularly active male and female patients had fasting glucose levels lower than the consistently inactive patients. Consistently active and irregularly active women had a greater magnitude of difference for cardiometabolic variables compared with similarly active men. Dec 22, 2014

Final phase polling begins in Jharkhand

Jharkhand, Dec 20 (ANI): The fifth and final phase of voting for 16 Assembly seats spread across six districts has begun in Jharkhand amid high security. Among the heavyweights, Hemant Soren, the JMM leader, is contesting from Dumka, apart from Barhait constituency, where he is facing challenge from former Morcha leader and BJP candidate Hemlal Murmu. Sixteen of the 81 assembly constituencies will vote in this phase. In all 36,90,069 voters, including 17,84,486 women, are eligible to exercise their franchise to choose among 208 candidates, 16 of them women. Voting would end at 3 pm in all the seats. Dec 20, 2014

Jammu and Kashmir, Dec 20 (ANI): Voting for the fifth and final leg of assembly polls on 20 seats of Jammu and Kashmir has begun. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in the state to ensure free and fair polling. In Jammu and Kashmir, several high-profile candidates, including Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, will try their luck in 20 seats spread over three districts - Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri. The study's findings support the acceptability of yoga for patients with lower physical tolerance, such as the elderly, those with a pre-existing cardiac condition or those with musculoskeletal or joint pain. Politicos congratulate ISRO for successfully launching GSLV Mark-III

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Politicos from various parties on Thursday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientists for successfully launching the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark-III from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. This is the first time that such an exercise has been conducted by the ISRO scientists. The GSLV Mark III weighs 630 tonnes and is powered by liquid and solid fuel engines while the cryogenic engine at the top is filled with liquid nitrogen. New Delhi, Dec 14 (ANI): Deputy Election Commissioner of India Vinod Zutshi on Sunday said that overall voter turnout in the fourth phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir is 49 percent. The 18 Assembly constituencies in the state went to fourth phase of polls today to decide fate of 182 candidates. Talking about the two clashes in the state during the polls, Zutshi said that the clash between PDP and Congress worker was a minor one and was far from the polling stations. Referring to brawl between BJP's candidate and a voter, Zutshi said that the police have filed a FIR in the case and that investigation is on.
