Wouldn't have quit had I got 36 seats in 2013 Delhi polls: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal said that he would not have resigned from the post of Delhi Chief Minister had he got 36 seats in 2013 assembly polls. Kejriwal was addressing a gathering of supporters in New Delhi ahead of assembly polls scheduled to take place next month. Meanwhile, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party( BJP) is eyeing power in the national capital, high on their wins in recent state elections and the general election last May. Meanwhile, Kejriwal also criticised the opposition Congress party. Kejriwal also declared the BJP as its main rival and urged his supporters not to waste their vote by voting for Congress party. Naqvi taken into custody for breaching prohibitory orders during 2009 LS polls, gets bail

Rampur, Jan 14 (ANI): Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was taken into judicial custody in Rampur on Wednesday for alleged poll code violation. Naqvi's arrest took place after a local court in Rampur sentenced him to one year in jail for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the 2009 general elections. However, Naqvi was later released on bail. An FIR had been registered against Naqvi and his supporters during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections in Rampur. Naqvi had allegedly breached the prohibitory orders in force and barged into a police station along with his party workers at Patwai area of Rampur parliamentary constituency while campaigning for the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
