Mumbai, August 29 (ANI): Bollywood Filmmakers Farah Khan and Kunal Kohli were spotted launching author Sonia Golani's latest book, 'Decoding Bollywood: Stories Of 15 Film Directors in Mumbai recently. Speaking on the occasion Farah thanked Sonia for making her a part of the book. While Kunal praised Sonia for her wonderful work. Decoding Bollywood takes readers through the unusual lives of 15 Hindi movie makers, including Mahesh Bhatt, R. Balakrishnan and Anurag Basu, who have created benchmarks in their respective genres. Among the 15 names are also Ashutosh Gowariker, Kabir Khan, Nagesh Kukunoor, Nandita Das, Prakash Jha, Rohit Shetty, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Sudhir Mishra, Vipul Shah and Zoya Akhtar. Aug 29, 2014

Indo Pak Flag meeting was held on primary level, hope issues at border would be resolved soon: IG Ja

Jammu, Aug 27 (ANI): Inspector General of BSF Jammu frontier, Rakesh Sharma on Wednesday informed that the first flag meeting between India and Pakistan post the ceasefire violations was held to resolve the issues at border. He further added that the meeting was held on primary level and it was decided that more such meetings would be held in near future to ensure peace at the border. The border officers' talks took place a day after the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) had talked over the hotline on ways to de-escalate tensions along the Line of Control and the International Border. The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan had concluded their talks on a positive note. Both the sides had then agreed to hold regular flag meetings to diffuse the tense situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. Aug 27, 2014

President Pranab Mukherjee meets IIT heads

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee met authorities from all 16 IITs on Friday in New Delhi. Mukherjee, accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Smriti Irani, addressed a Conference of Chairmen of Boards of Governors, and Directors of all 16 IITs at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the president’s official residence. The meet was focused on how IITs can implement the vision of ‘Make in India’, a vision that Modi had spoke about in his speech on Independence Day. They stressed on the need for all IITs to work together to help India become a global leader and a provider of skilled manpower. Assamese teenager makes her mark in a Hollywood film

Assam, Aug 16 (ANI): Directed by Oscar winning director Jeffery D Brown, the film 'Sold' has received widespread critical acclaim since it opened at the 5th London Indian Film Festival and won an Audience award. The actor in lead role is Niyar Saikia, a girl hailing from Assam. She has played the role of the main protagonist, Lakshmi, a Nepali girl who becomes a victim of human trafficking. Niyar was selected from among 1,000 girls in Nepal and India who had auditioned for the role and had to participate in a workshop to prepare for the role. The 13-year old actor has been gaining appreciation for her sensitive portrayal of a child trafficking victim in the film. A student of class 9, Niyar has been acting since she was a kid and is currently a drama student at the SEAGULL drama institute. She has also done a number of Assamese movies with noted directors like Jahnu Baruah. Her parents are supportive of her career and are proud of her achievements. Aug 16, 2014
