New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that when dignitaries shakes hand with him and looks into his eyes, they don’t see Modi but reflection of Indian populace. He said that if the world is looking up to India with expectation, it is not because of Modi but because of its people. He said that the central government is dedicated to poor. Modi further said that a country with such percentage of young blood, has the capability to change the fate of the world. The Prime Minister, who is said to be the BJP's trump card, will also be addressing the BJP supporters at Dwarka on February 1, Rohini on February 3 and Ambedkar Nagar on February 4. The elections for 70-member Delhi Assembly will take place on February 7 while the results will be announced on February 10. Jan 31, 2015

Former Gorkha soldier Subash Ghising who ignited Gorkhaland fire in Darjeeling dies

West Bengal, Jan 31 (ANI): The body of former Gorkha soldier Subash Ghising, who ignited Gorkhaland fire in Darjeeling in West Bengal in the eighties, has been flown to Bagdogra airport and would be taken to his village for last rites. Ghising, 79, died at a government hospital in New Delhi. He is survived by his son. A large crowd of his supporters gathered at Bagdogra airport when his body was brought from New Delhi in a plane. Chennai, Jan 27 (ANI): Congress leader and son of former union minister P Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram, on Tuesday refuted the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee's (TNCC) charge that he had made remarks against the party and its high command, and said that whatever he had said was totally in sync with Congress principles. He was reacting to the showcause notice sent by TNCC President E V K S Elangovan asking him to explain why he should not be expelled from the party. The TNCC had issued a show-cause notice to Karti on Friday, asking why he should not be expelled for his anti-party remarks at a meeting with his supporters in Chennai where, he had reportedly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "political acumen".
