India, Australia seeking early closure to civil nuke pact: PM Modi

Canberra, Nov 18 (ANI): Prime Ministers of India and Australia said on Tuesday that they were seeking early closure to a civil nuclear agreement that will give Australia a chance to participate in one of the worlds most safe and secure nuclear energy programmes. India and Australia on Tuesday inked five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The agreements signed include one on social security. The other pacts signed concern the transfer of sentenced persons, combating narcotics trafficking and developing police cooperation, cooperation in the field of arts and culture and lastly in the field of tourism. French Navy Chief on six-day India visit to strengthen strategic ties

New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): The French Navy Chief Admiral Bernard Rogel arrived in India on a six-day visit during which he will tour naval facilities in Goa and Mumbai, besides seeing the Mazagon Dock which is building six Scorpene submarines with the help of a French firm. Admiral Bernard Rogel told mediapersons that he was happy to be in India, a strategic partner for years. The Admiral was received at the South Block lawns by Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and accorded a ceremonial guard of honour. The first Scorpene submarine is expected to be launched in September 2015. Arun Jaitley says Pak should draw red line if it wants to initiate dialogue

New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said that Pakistan should draw a red line whether it wants to initiate dialogue or talk to those who wish to break India. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in New Delhi, Jaitley said Pakistan should make a conscious choice for a meaningful dialogue between the two countries. India had called off Secretary level talks with Pakistan earlier in August, giving a jolt to renewed diplomatic efforts between the two nuclear-armed neighbours and adding to the troubles of Pakistan's beleaguered government.
