Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Modi ahead of assembly polls in Maharashtra

Raigad, Oct 08 (ANI): Addressing his first election rally ahead of assembly polls in Maharashtra on Wednesday, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on having light moments with Chinese President, Xi Jinping, while Chinese troops were creating disturbances at the border. Gandhi was addressing the people in Raigad district. Modi during his speeches has mentioned about axing the laws which his government feels are unnecessary. Modi has also made a committee for it. In reply to this move by the central government, Rahul Gandhi said laws that were befitting the poor were being quietly finished by Modi. Rahul Gandhi said that by questioning the Congress government for the last 60 years, Modi was questioning the late freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Indian Air Force celebrates its 82nd anniversary

Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said that the IAF's journey of 82 years has witnessed many historic moments and it has emerged as one of the most formidable and respected air forces of the world. To mark the occasion there will be air displaying of various aircrafts as a part of the Air Force Day Parade cum Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station here. Modi tweeted, "On his birth anniversary, I bow to Shyamji Krishna Varma. A devout patriot, he inspired several nationalists, both in India and overseas. Shyamji Krishna Varma was closely associated with India House, which was a very active hub for the nationalist movement in London." "In 2003, I had the honour to bring Shyamji Krishna Varma's ashes back to India from Switzerland. In 2010, we dedicated Kranti Teerth to the nation. New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday swept his department premises along with his officers in New Delhi as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi pet project 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' (Clean India Mission). The NDA Government pledges to completely clean India by October 2019, coinciding with 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and peace icon Mahatma Gandhi. As a part of its ambitious plan, the Modi government will spend nearly rupees 2000 billion in five years. Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda to participate in railway cleaning drive

Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda said on Thursday, a special cleanliness drive will be carried out in all railway stations across the country on October 02, the birth anniversary of iconic freedom fighter, Mahatma Gandhi. Indian cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on September 24 given nod to clean India mission ‘Swachch Bharat', which will be operative for five years. Gowda, while addressing a news conference in New Delhi, said the ministers are welcome to visit any railway station on that day. He also invited railway employees to voluntarily participate in this gigantic programme.
