New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Giving clarification over his remark to "crush" the electronic media, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday said that he did not mean "journalism" but “social media”. Shinde was heard threatening to "crush" the electronic media, alleging a section of it was unnecessarily provoking the Congress party by indulging in "false propaganda" against it. Mauzzafarnagar/ New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Khap leader from Uttar Pradesh, Naresh Tikait, said the Supreme Court should not encourage marriages within the same clan and warned the high command not to interfere in these matters. Earlier, the Supreme Court has told the Centre and state governments to act promptly in cases of dishonour killings and to provide protection to couples who face such threats from khap panchayats or village councils often accused of dispensing medieval-style justice leading to murders and social ostracisation of couples. Political parties condemn BJP over its poll expenses

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Reacting on BJP’s poll campaigning expenses amounting to Rs. 400 crore, political parties condemned the same and said that the public will decide on the party’s fortune. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that it is still doubtful that the expenses were just Rs. 400 crore, in the backdrop of choppers used and huge stages made for Narendra Modi. New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 110.19 points up to stand at 20,477.01. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 24.95 points up to stand at 6,073.30. Financial Technologies and Tata Motors Ltd. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 4.98% and 4.74% along with MCX and Adani Power Ltd. with an increase of 4.35% and 3.95% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Suzlon Energy and NMDC with a decrease of 5.04% and 4.92% along with The Ramco Cements and Amara Raja with a decrease of 4.32% and 3.20% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 116.12 points at 12,084.10 while the banking sector is up 166.33 points at 11,824.11 and the realty sector is down 9.96 points at 1,200.02.
