Artists from India and Pakistan share stage during music festival to bolster bilateral ties

Amritsar, Nov 30 (ANI): A 41-member delegation of Pakistani artists shared stage with their Indian counterparts during a joint cultural festival 'Saanjh' in Amritsar city. The event is likely to bring the peace building process back on track. With an aim to bolster the bilateral ties and restart the peace building measures, which were derailed by the recent skirmishes along the international border, the event brings together cultural artists of both nuclear-armed neighbours with a positive note. The festival is being organised by centre for preservation and promotion of heritage Punarjyot in collaboration with its Lahore-based counterpart Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop (RPTW). Meanwhile, Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil who was present at the festival, said peace will come not with fights but maturity. Pakistani, Indian artists to celebrate common cultural similarities

Amritsar, Nov 29 (ANI): A 41-member delegation of artistes, singers and musicians from Pakistan, arrived in Amritsar to participate in a joint cultural festival 'Saanjh'. The main objective of the festival is to foster strong bond of friendship between the two nuclear armed neighbours through shared cultural folklore, music and poetry. The colourful rainbow of artists came together under the umbrella of Amritsar-Lahore peace festival, which is being celebrated since twelve years, spreading the message of peace and harmony. Leading Sufi Musician of Pakistan, Saeen Zahur Ahmad said that people across borders should bond with each other, spreading the message of love and brotherhood. Both countries have also introduced a project named Aman Ki Asha', a peace initiative between India and Pakistan. India rubbishes US think-tank finding on Pakistan nuclear weaponry

New Delhi, Nov 25 (ANI): Indian experts on Monday rubbished US think-tank report on Pakistan's growing nuclear weaponry saying it was being exaggerated as every country had right to equip itself in a bid to ensure security. According to a study by the US based think-tank Council on Foreign Relations, Pakistan's nuclear strength could reach up to 200 nuclear devices in the next six years. It also said South Asia was most at risk from unresolved territorial disputes, terrorism and growing nuclear strength. Defence Expert Praful Bakshi, however, was quick to dismiss the findings of the study. Meanwhile, NCP leader Majid Memon said that Pakistan should refrain from trying to intimidate India. Nov 25, 2014
