Ranchi/Agra, June 06 (ANI): Residents and tourists across India suffered as severe heat wave conditions intensified unabated on Friday and temperatures rose above 40 degrees Celsius in some states. Tourists visiting the iconic monument Taj Mahal in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh complained of lack of basic facilities like drinking water by the authorities under oppressive heat conditions. The maximum temperature in Agra was recorded above 40 degrees Celsius and the city also faced severe power cuts and acute water crisis. In Jharkhand, pedestrians and two-wheeler riders suffered the most under sweltering sun and looked for ways to beat the heat. Residents were seen carrying umbrellas, wearing protective clothing and drinking fruit juices to protect themselves from the sun. Jun 6, 2014

New Delhi/ Kanpur, May 30 (ANI): As the people in UP are reeling under 10- hour power-cuts, the blame game is on between UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and union government. Yadav said that centre is not providing adequate power. He said that due to less supply of coal from Coal India, power crisis is growing in the state. Meanwhile, hitting back at Yadav, Minister of state for power Piyush Goyal said that the state government must buy power from the Centre and that there is no shortage of power.
