Police rescue four mining officials abducted by Maoists in Jharkhand

Chaibasa, Dec 06 (ANI): Police rescued four mining officials, who were abducted by Maoists in Jharkhand, said a senior official. Deputy Directors of mines department, Bipin Bihari Satiyar, Saket Bharti, stenographer Mahanti Toppo and driver Nitai Chandra were kidnapped by Maoists in west Singhbhum district. Superintendent of Police, Narendra Kumar Singh said the abductees were found in forest, as rebels ran away due to police's fear. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s. Dec 6, 2014

Four mining officials abducted in Jharkhand, says a senior official

Ranchi, Dec 5 (ANI): Four mining officials were abducted in Jharkhand, said a senior official on Friday. According to the media reports, the deputy directors of the mines department Bipin Bihari Satiyar, Saket Bharti, stenographer Mahanti Toppo and driver Nitai Chandra were kidnapped by Maoists in West Singhbhum district. Though, their whereabouts is unknown still. Distraught family of abductees urged the kidnappers to release them soon. Security beefed up in Assam ahead of PM's visit for DGPs conference

Guwahati, Nov 28 (ANI): Security stepped up ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with the police chiefs in Assam. Modi and Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh will address the two-day meet, which begins on Saturday, and being held in Assam for the first time. Directors general of police (DGPs) and inspectors general of police (IGPs) from the states and union territories, chief ministers of the northeastern states, officials from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and paramilitary forces will take part in it. Director General of Police Khagen Sarma said all precautionary measures are being taken to prevent any untoward incident. India's northeast consists of eight states which are beset with militancy and insurgency.
