Hardcore Maoist leader surrenders before police in Odisha

Malkangiri, March 09 (ANI): Top female Maoist leader Debe Podiami alias Sandhya, surrendered before the police in Malkangiri district of Odisha. She surrendered before Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jaswant Jethwa and Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhileswar Singh. Sandhya had a bounty of 5,00,000 rupees (nearly USD 8164.73) on her head. Following her surrender, the police gave her 50, 000 rupees cash as a part of provincial government’s package. She will get compensations in accordance with provisions of surrender package of Odisha government for Maoists. The 30-year-old hardcore Maoist was the committee member of Malkangiri-Koraput border and member of outlawed CPI (Maoist) outfit. Mar 9, 2014

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that the BJP has done justice to both Telangana and Seemandhra region and if the party comes in power, further justice will be done. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill or the Telangana Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday in the face of noisy protests. The Bill was passed without any change as the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party did not press for any of the amendments moved by it following an assurance from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over several issues, including a special package to the Seemandhra region for five years.
