Tens of thousands march in Indonesia against city governor

Tens of thousands of Muslim protesters in Indonesia marched to demand the resignation of the governor of Jakarta. They claim Basuki Tjahja Purnama insulted the Quran and want him jailed for blasphemy. Police are investigating the case against Purnama who has apologised for the remarks. Nov 4, 2016

South Korea president denies being part of religious cult

South Korean President Park Geun-hye has apologised for the political scandal she is alleged to have caused. Park is accused of letting close friend Choi Soon-sil influence state affairs. Choi was arrested on Monday but denies the allegations. Chois late father, Choi Tae-min, was leader of a religious sect and close to Park’s father, the late president Park Chung-hee. Theresa May has lambasted Fifa by branding the governing bodys poppy ban as utterly outrageous. The comments come as the Football Association (FA) attempt to get the ban lifted for the Armistice Day match between England and Scotland on 11 November.
