Odisha, Jan 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated scientists for the successful test-firing of India's longest range ballistic missile Agni-V. "Successful test-firing of Agni V from a canister makes the missile a prized asset for our forces. I salute our scientists for their efforts," the Prime Minister tweeted. Agni-V was successfully test-fired on Saturday from a canister on the Wheeler Island off the coast of Odisha. Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), this is the missile's third launch. Pakistan expresses concern over India-US nuclear deal

Wagah Border, Jan 30 (ANI): Pakistan ambassador to India, Abdul Basit expressed concern over India-US nuclear deal. Pakistan said that the deal, which was signed during President Barack Obama visit to New Delhi, would have a detrimental impact on deterrence stability in South Asia. Further, it termed the agreement a move for political and economic expediencies. Explaining his absence from New Delhi during Obama’s visit, Basit said he was on a private visit to Pakistan. Islamabad also opposed New Delhi’s bid for membership to the 48-member Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and a permanent seat in the UN Security Council. When asked about the civil nuclear cooperation between India and the United States, which has been revived by US President Barack Obama's visit, the Dalai Lama said that he considered India as a huge and populous nation and hence it had a right to keep nuclear weapon.
