MDMK demands files on Subhas Chandra Bose to be 'declassified'

Chennai, Dec 24 (ANI): MDMK took to streets in Tamil Nadu to demand central government to declassify files related to the disappearance of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose. MDMK led by party Chief Vaiko and another regional party Trinamool Congress (TMC) held a joint protest saying the inquiry report on the leader's death must be made public. Reportedly, there are several files which have been categorised as Secret and Classified relating to issues like acquisition of Jankinath Bhavan (now leaders birth place museum) by the then government of Odisha, the appointment of inquiry committee to review the circumstances of Boses death and his mortal remains kept in Rankoji temple in Japan. Nainital/ Varanasi, Dec 17 (ANI): Fresh spell of snow in Nainital brought much delight to the tourists enjoying their vacation in the state of Uttarakhand. Tourists were seen throwing snowballs on each other as mercury dipped further with the snowfall. Several parts of Himachal Pradesh have also received snowfall that resulted in intense cold wave. Meanwhile, icy cold winds also swept through temple town of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and intense fog affected normal life and train schedules. Located in the tropics, most of India witnesses a very hot summer and a largely temperate winter. Minimum temperatures even dropped to sub-zero level in higher altitudes in Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi, Dec 14 (ANI): Politicos react as Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan said that Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik is acting 'more like a priest of the Ayodhya temple than a governor'. Khan said this at a public gathering on Saturday in Amroha. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the statement given by the governor was not correct. NCP leader Majid Memon said that Khan is known for making such types of comment, but the governor also should refrain from making such statements on the issue. RJD leader Manoj Jha said that it is the responsibility of the governor to take care of the constitutional things. CPI leader Atul Anjan said that Azam Khan should try to avoid speaking in first place.
