RSS observes Dussehra festivities with worship of weapons, cadres' parade in Haryana

Gurgaon, Sep 28 (ANI): Cadres of the RSS, observed Dussehra festivities in Gurgaon city in Haryana, by performing the ancient Indian ritual of worshipping weapons (Shastra Puja) and holding a cadets' parade to show its preparedness to gain victory over evil, which is the symbol of the festival. On Sunday, RSS cadres attired in their khaki short pants, white shirts and black caps, performed drills holding sticks and also took part in a parade to mark the day. A cadet, Prabhat Sharma, said that more than 200 activists were present on this occasion of weapon worship in Gurgaon. The Hindu festival of 'Dussera' marks the conquest of Hindu divinity Lord Rama, over the demon king Ravana, who is believed to have ruled the island of Lanka. Sep 28, 2014

Police arrest hardcore Maoist commander in Maharashtra

Gadchiroli, Sept 17 (ANI): A hardcore Maoist commander was arrested in outskirts of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. The arrested Maoist has been identified as Raju alias Jethuram Dhurva. Superintendent of Police (SP), Sandip Patil, termed the arrest as a big achievement for the district police. Robert Vadra may lose airport security privilege, politicos react

New Delhi, Sep 10(ANI): According to reports Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has asked the aviation officials to tone down the existing list of people exempt from the security checks at airports. Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has 30 people on the exempt list which begins with the President and goes up to special protection group protectees. The list also includes the Dalai Lama. The only individual listed in that list (on number 31) is Robert Vadra.
