President Mukherjee extends good wishes to Myanmar on 67th Independence Day.

New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended his good wishes to Myanmar on the country's 67th Independence Day. In his message to the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U. Thein Sein, the President said, "On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend to you warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. India and Myanmar share enduring ties of culture, religion, language and ethnicity that have served as bedrock of our close and friendly relations. Our joint efforts, in the last few years, have led to substantial broadening and deepening of our bilateral relations. We look forward to continue working with you and your government to further strengthen our multifaceted cooperation. Markets in Rajkot flooded with Modi-Obama kites

Rajkot, Jan 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama will fly high in the sky during the upcoming International Kite Festival (Uttarayan) in Gujarat as Modi-Obama kites are a hit amongst customers. The kite festival which marks the end of winter will start on January 10 and will culminate on January 13. The shops in Rajkot are loaded with kites of all the types but the customers are seen going after the one with Modi printed on them. A kite seller, Ravi Tak, said that the demands of Modi kites are increasing every year. US President Barack Obama will attend Republic Day celebrations in January as chief guest, a sign of steadily expanding ties between two countries that share concerns about China's growing power in Asia. Security experts say convergence with US on extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana unlikely

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Security experts on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have to find a way to demand extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana from the US during President Barack Obama’s visit for Republic Day celebrations. Rana was arrested in Chicago by the FBI on October 18, 2009 for plotting an attack on Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which ran cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in 2005, US authorities said in court documents. Security Expert Uday Bhaskar said that it was difficult to expect a convergence between Washington and New Delhi on militancy in relation to Pakistan.
