New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that efforts are being made to restore communication facilities in flood-hit areas of JandK. He further said that BSNL has allowed people in the valley to talk for a week without any charges and the private companies have given 60mins/day free talktime to the people of JandK. He said that inter-circle roaming has also been permitted in the area for 15 days and that landlines have also started working in the valley. Sep 13, 2014

PM Modi holds meet to review infrastructure sector progress

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Friday reviewed progress of eight major infrastructure sectors in the country. The sectors included Civil Aviation, Ports and Inland Waterways, Railways, Roads, Telecom, Power, Coal, and New and Renewable Energy. The meet was a part of the regular series of reviews on infrastructure, which the prime minister takes every month. Modi stated that accelerated infrastructure development was his top priority, and also stressed the need for creating world-class infrastructure in India. The Prime Minister said initiatives undertaken by state governments as well as Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) with other countries, including SAARC countries, should also be taken into account while monitoring the progress of infrastructure sectors. Aircel-Maxis deal case: CBI chargesheets Maran brothers

New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): The CBI on Friday filed a chargesheet in the Maxis-Aircel case in the CBI special court hearing the 2G scam. Former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanidhi Maran and six others, including four companies, were chargesheeted by the CBI. Besides the Maran brothers, the CBI has named Malaysian business tycoon T Ananda Krishnan, Ralph Marshall, a top executive and four companies, including Sun Direct TV Pvt Ltd and Malaysia's Maxis Communication Berhad, as accused in the case.
