Next in line is Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's biopic. ‘M.S Dhoni – The Untold Story’, this is going to be the name of the movie. Dhoni had reportedly given the nod for the film and actor Sushant Singh Rajput will play the cricketer on the screen. Neeraj Pandey has apparently been roped in to helm the film as the director. Mangalyaan success marks new era for India, says former ISRO chief

Thiruvananthapuram /Varanasi, Allahabad / Bangalore, Sept 24 (ANI): Former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), G Madhavan Nair, said on Wednesday that the Mars mission would mark a new era in country’s space research as India became the first country to enter the red planet's orbit in its maiden attempt. Nair said India has broken all records of travel by reaching to the farthest point. Director of Jawahar Planetarium in Allahabad, Pramod Pandey, said the achievement will be marked in golden words. Hindus take holy dip in Ganges as they pay tribute to ancestors on new moon day in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sept 23 (ANI): Devout Hindus crowded river banks and priests guided them to perform rituals to pay tribute to their ancestors on Tuesday on the occasion of new moon day in Kolkata. The festive season of Navratri (Nine Nights) embarks from the very next day of this New Moon day in India, according to the Hindu calendar. Thousands of people took a holy dip in river Hooghly, traditionally called 'Ganga’ or Ganges. One of the devotees who flocked to the Hooghly, Dr S Pandey explained why people observe the holy dip on this particular day. Some devouts also tonsured their head as a mark of respect to their ancestors as they prayed for the peace of their souls after taking a dip in the river. ISROs Mars Mission main engine test fire successful

New Delhi, Sep 22 (ANI): ISRO on Monday successfully test fired the main liquid engine of the India’s Mars Orbiter Mission which was dormant from 10 months. Scientist Amitabh Pandey commenting on the success of the fire test said that since the engine was dormant, it needs to be tested so that it can be successfully used on 24th for entering the mars orbit. Man arrested with 218 turtles at railway station in Kanpur

Kanpur, Sep 21 (ANI): A man was arrested with 218 turtles packed in two sack bags at Kanpur Railway station that were being smuggled to Kolkata. Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector, Tripurari Pandey said that the man was trying to smuggle the turtles to Kolkata. The turtles recovered from the smuggler are estimated to be worth millions in the international market. Pandey also said that the turtles were primarily used for consumption or for making medicines. There is a huge demand of turtles in Southeast Asia and China. Apart from being consumed and making medicines, turtles are believed to have aphrodisiac properties as well. Kanpur is one of the crucial transit points for turtle smugglers looking to sneak them out of India via sea ports in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Sep 21, 2014
