Science expo in Panaji displays country's military, technological might

Panaji, Feb 07 (ANI): A science expo in Goa is drawing huge audiences with displays from various Indian scientific and military organisations, aiming not only to attract investors and buyers, but also to educate students. The Fourth Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan and Expo, an initiative of the Goa government, Goa University and the largest people's science campaign in India, Vijnana Bharti, aims at bringing people together who have had achievements in the field of science and technology and disseminate their achievements to the masses. The theme for this year is 'Innovation in science and technology in service of mankind'. The Expo will see workshops and seminars on various topics along with exhibitions of various technologies under one roof. Goa governor, Mridula Sinha, who inaugurated the event, said the Expo was a display of India's technological might to the world. Feb 7, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Just two days before Delhi goes to polls, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday praised the Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal. Sinha said that Kejriwal is a 'good man' and that the party's prospects are bright. He said that the fight in the national capital is between Kiran Bedi who has a clean image and has been a good officer, and Arvind Kejriwal, who too has a clean image. Further, Sinha also said that the negative campaigning that the national capital has been observing is unfortunate. Jayant Sinha calls for innovative ideas to tackle environmental problems

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha on Wednesday called for sustainable development, stressing on the need to adopt innovative ideas to solve environmental problems. Addressing the 15th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit in New Delhi, Sinha said that water scarcity, pollution and climate change were major challenges to sustainable development. Sinha invited country's entrepreneurs and innovators to bring about a change in several important areas like power, transportation, etc. He also stressed on the need to put solar panels, electric cars to better use in order to prevent pollution. India, the world's third largest carbon emitter, is reluctant to follow the United States and China in committing to a peak year for emissions on the grounds it needs economic growth to alleviate poverty.
