Agartala/New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): Villages along India-Bangladesh border in Tripura joined personnel of paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday (October 23) to offer special prayers and perform Kali Puja. Goddess Kali is the chief deity worshipped with grandeur by the people of Tripura and in West Bengal on the occasion of Diwali (festival of lights). Residents of bordering villages thronged the temple in Agartala and worshipped Goddess Kali according to the rituals and made assortment of religious offerings to the Hindu goddess. Modi on Thursday visited Siachen, the world's highest battlefield in the Himalayan region, on the day of Diwali, and interacted with soldiers. Asserting that the BJP government stands with flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir in rehabilitation work, Prime Minister Modi also announced 570 crore rupees package for rebuilding homes in the devastated Kashmir Valley.
