Tourism sector foresee boost as PM announces visa on arrival for American tourists

Jaipur, Oct 02 (ANI): Tour operators in Rajasthan were elated after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced visa on arrival for American tourists, during his five-day US trip. Tour guides and operators expect that this move would give a fillip to tourism industry in the state. During his US trip, which started from New York, Modi drew an especially loud cheer when he made a long-awaited announcement that those holding cards showing they were of Indian origin would be granted lifetime visas to India. He also said that India would allow visas on arrival for US citizens, while addressing a crowd of 18,000 people at New York's Madison Square Garden. Rajasthan hosts maximum number of tourists from France and after Modi’s announcement, it is being assumed that state could witness very high footfall of US citizens and PIO card holders as well. Ravi Shankar Prasad sweeps his office premises taking part in Clean India Mission

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday swept his department premises along with his officers in New Delhi as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi pet project 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' (Clean India Mission). The NDA Government pledges to completely clean India by October 2019, coinciding with 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and peace icon Mahatma Gandhi. As a part of its ambitious plan, the Modi government will spend nearly rupees 2000 billion in five years. Prasad said the government was committed to the mission and proposed to clean railway station in Patna on October 02.
