Rajnath Singh takes aerial survey of flood affected areas in UP

Uttar Pradesh, Aug 22 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday took an aerial survey of the flood affected areas in Uttar Pradesh. Singh said that some areas have been deeply affected by the floods and rescue operations are going on, though in a non-satisfactory manner. He also said that an investigation team will be sent by him to the areas to inspect the condition. Singh assured that relief will be provided to the people and added that compensation amount has been provided to the victims. Uttarakhand, Aug 21 (ANI): BJP leader Ajay Bhatt made an aerial survey by a chopper in the flood affected areas after a cloudburst worsened the situation in Uttarakhand. The heavy rains followed by a cloudburst have led to floods and landslides claiming more than 20 lives and causing immense damage of life and property in various parts of Uttarakhand. Shutdown in Telangana to undertake survey for welfare schemes

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (ANI): The state government in Telangana called for a shutdown as it began conducting a survey of households on Tuesday to enlist poor for welfare schemes. The state government, in a day-long survey, would go door-to-door and ask details of around 8.4 million households. Almost two million volunteers would collect information. Meanwhile, streets in capital city of Hyderabad wore a deserted look and schools, shops, banks and petrol pumps also remained closed. According to Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, the survey would help the newly formed government understand its social composition, corruption, cut wastage and make better welfare schemes, especially for the poor.
