Young models in Manipur showcase their talent at "Man Hunt 2014"

Manipur, May 18 (ANI): Models from Manipur looked stunning in traditional as well as modern dresses as they walked the ramp at the Man Hunt 2014 contest. All together 32 models from all the districts took part in the contest. That aims to promote harmony amongst the ethnic people of Manipur and encourage the youth to lead a healthy life. The event was organized by the Research and Self Employed Academy of Creative Arts in Ahariya and Fashion. Later the winner received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the subtitle winner received a cash of Rs 7000. The country's northeastern region is filled with abundance of talent in modelling and fashion designing. May 18, 2014

Youngsters in Manipur imparted training in Thang-ta and Folk dances

Imphal, May 17 (ANI): These young girls are getting training in Thangta and Manipuri folk dances at Keirao Bitra in Imphal East district. The one-month long workshop-cum-training program was organized by the Performing Organization of Arts and Culture, Manipur under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi with Guru Thaba as the project director. During the course of the training program, special emphasis was given on teaching the girl trainees how to use the traditional martial art forms for self defense. A total of 30 girls as well as 8 boys were a part of the programme. In the past few years, Guru Thaba has regularly been training youths and promoting Thangta and folk dances. May 17, 2014

Sajjive Balakrishnan drew caricatures of Cancer patients bringing therapeutic effect

Kochi, May 15 (ANI): Renowned Indian caricaturist Sajjive Balakrishnan drew sketches of cancer patients at a government hospital in Kochi city of Kerala in an attempt to bring happiness to their lives and make them forget the pain for a while. Fascinated patients watched Balakrishnan sketch and were overjoyed to spend a day with him as he made their one-minute sketches with unparalleled artistry and finesse. The artist also interacted with the patients and staff at the hospital. Balakrishnan was in the hospital as part of its Arts and Medicine project. May 15, 2014
