The lawyer in the case said that a writ petition was filed by an organization in Punjab over the same and that this is creating an agregarian fall in India. The petition also said that there was no actions taken by the government over the same and that there was no compliance also. Heavy rain damages apple crop in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Sep 10 (ANI): Heavy rains and storm for the last three days damaged apple crop worth rupees100 crore in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rains lashed several areas of the state in the last few days and as per preliminary assessment, farmers have lost nearly 80 percent crops in Shimla district. Farmers expected assistance and relief from the government, as main roads and transport links have also been damaged due to the rains. India’s top apple growing state of Himachal Pradesh is likely to produce 500-540 million kilograms of the fruit this year as compared to 700 million kilograms last year. Rahul Gandhi irks women in UP for not hearing their water, electricity woes

Munshiganj, Sept 05 (ANI): Women's wing of Bharatiya Kisan Union, a farmer's union, on Friday (September 05) protested in Munshiganj village of Uttar Pradesh, on being denied a meeting with Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi with whom they wanted to share their woes regarding scarcity of electricity and water for their fields. Munshiganj is located in the Raebarelli district of Uttar Pradesh, a constituency under the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Women in the area wanted to meet Sonia's son and scion of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, to discuss the prevailing problems of water and electricity. Protesters blamed the government for ignoring the needs of the farmers and entering into business with industrialists. They demanded that funds coming into the constituency should first be used for the benefit of the farmers.
