New Delhi, Sept 23 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 431.05 points down to stand at 26,775.69. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 128.75 points down to stand at 8,017.55. GLAXOSMITHKLINE CONSUMER HEALTHCARE LTD. and MRPL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 1.74% and 1.59% along with LandT FINANCE HOLDINGS LTD. and HCL TECH with an increase of 1.37% and 1.36% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include UNITECH and SUZLON with a decrease of 10.98% and 9.78% along with NATIONALUM and DLF with a decrease of 7.13% and 6.69% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 352.72 points at 17,939.34 while the banking sector is down 321.57 points at 18,210.63 and the reality sector is down 86.45 points at 1,673.48. Poorness not god gifted but changeable: German ambassador as he takes 'rice bucket challenge'

New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): German ambassador to India Michael Steiner on Tuesday took a rice bucket challenge at a slum area of New Delhi. Modifying the popular ice bucket challenge, Steiner took the rice bucket challenge wherein he distributed buckets of rice to poor people and said that poorness is not god gifted and is totally changeable. He talked with the residents of the slum while distributing rice to them and said that this was much needed and valuable than the ice bucket challenge. Steiner also said that the German Embassy is partners with a hospital in Baramulla and announced to send Rs 25 lakh for basic healthcare to flood hit Kashmir. Sep 9, 2014

At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 87.05 points up to stand at 8,173.90. TORRENT POWER LTD. and MRF were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 14.87% and 8.92% along with APOLLO TYRE and MAX with an increase of 8.32% and 7.10% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include J&KBANK and GLAXOSMITHKLINE CONSUMER HEALTHCARE LTD. with a decrease of 4.42% and 3.08% along with TTKPRESTIGE and SUN TV with a decrease of 2.65% and 2.38% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 138.39 points at 17,711.81 while the banking sector is up 252.29 points at 18,550.29 and the reality sector is up 13.60 points at 1,779.01.
