India, US must bring persistence to overcome obstacles: US Ambassador to India

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): US Ambassador to India, Richard Verma said that both countries should bring energy and persistence to overcome the obstacles towards achieving the shared objectives agreed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Barack Obama. Verma added that leaders had set the tone and it was up to rest of them to take the relationship forward that involves Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and his team, cabinets, bureaucracies and national security teams. The January 25 announcement by Obama and Modi followed six weeks of intensive talks, but few details were released beyond a framework based on India's acceptance of the principle that plant operators should bear primary liability in the event of a nuclear disaster. CBI harassing my aides, alleges Maran

Chennai, Jan 22 (ANI): Former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran on Thursday alleged that the CBI was harassing the three people who were arrested in connection with the alleged allotment of more than 300 high-speed telephone lines to his residence in Chennai which were allegedly extended to his brother's TV channel, Sun TV. He said the CBI had forced the trio to give out false statements stating there was a link between Sun TV and his residence. The former minister said that the three were beaten up when they refused to give a false statement. Maran further said that the personnel co-operated with the CBI each time they were called. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had on Wednesday night arrested three persons, including V Gowthaman, the then Additional Private Secretary to Dayanidhi Maran in connection with alleged allotment of more than 300 high-speed telephone lines.
