PM Modi to give Teachers' Day speech, mixed reactions flow

BJP leaders Sambit Patra and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi applauded the PM for this step saying that this is a pro-active step and that the Prime Minister feels that teachers form the backbone of the country. Naqvi commenting on the opposition parties criticizing this step said that it is a relief that they are only criticizing the step and not saying that this was their original idea and BJP has stolen it from them. Congress leader Manish Tewari condemning Modi's step appealed to the parents that they should challenge the circulars stating about Modi's speech to be telecasted in the school in the court and that such a step is legally incorrect. CPI leader D Raja said that although such a step is improper, for now, people should wait and see about what the PM talks to the children. Sep 5, 2014
