New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Tuesday told parliament that the government was keen to set up a panel to appoint judges in wake of allegations of judicial corruption by a former judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Markandey Katju. Katju alleged that the previous Manmohan Singh government extended the tenure of a corrupt additional judge of the Madras High Court due to stay in power as its key ally from the Tamil Nadu had threatened to withdraw support. New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday reacted over Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju_s statement claiming that the UPA government was forced by its ally to save a corrupt judge in Madras High Court. Congress leader Veerappa Moily said that Katju should have raised his voice at that time so that the government could have taken some action. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla also stated that Katju should have raised the issue when it was hot so that proper investigation could have been done in the matter.
