Osborne, the former UK chancellor and MP for Tatton, came in for criticism earlier in 2017 for holding multiple jobs while serving as a member of parliament. The second round of the French parliamentary elections has begun. French President Emmanuel Macrons party Republic on the Move (LREM) is expected to win a large majority. Even though LREM is only a year old some polls predict it will secure up to 80% of seats. Marine Le Pens Front National is predicted to win only between one and six seats. Greek protesters dumped several boxes of raw sardines outside the Greek parliament. Members of a communist-backed labour union threw the crates at police and lawmakers. The fishy protest was meant to be a sign against austerity measures in a fisheries bill. The austerity measures were tacked to a bill protecting living marine resources.
