Dozens gather outside Downing Street to call on DRC President Joseph Kabila to step down

Dozens of protesters gathered in London to call on Kabila to step down, after mass protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo turned deadly on 19 September. At least 17 people were killed after huge protests in the DRC capital Kinshasa. Kabila is due to step down from the presidency on 19 December, but it is widely thought he intends to remain in power past this deadline. Sep 20, 2016

Edward Snowden and his supporters make case for pardon

Former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden and his supporters made their case for the American whistleblower to be pardoned. Snowden, who lives in Moscow, appeared via video link at a news conference in New York to say he doesnt regret his decision. Supporters of Snowden are calling for his pardon arguing that he performed a public service by uncovering excessive electronic surveillance by the United States intelligence agency. Sep 16, 2016
