New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Politicians on Monday applauded finance minister P Chidambaram's accepting of long pending "one rank, one pension" principle for armed forces as part of a 10 per cent hike in defence budget to $36 billion, a decision by which Congress could win support of soldiers ahead of upcoming polls. Finance Minister presents interim budget, politicos call it election oriented

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): After Finance Minister P Chidambaram presented an interim budget, amidst protests over Telangana, political leaders called it ‘election oriented’. TMC leader Saugata Roy said that it is nothing but a vote on account of three months. BJP leader Jaswant Singh said that there is no guarantee if the government will work on it. Further, BSP Chief Mayawati said that there is nothing new in the budget.
