Health hazards force state to issue stop notice to ship-breaking unit in Kerala

Kannur, July 23 (ANI): Protests by local villagers against the increasing health hazards and environmental pollution compel authorities in Kannur city of Kerela to issue a stop notice to the ship dismantling factory of the area on Wednesday. After widespread protests by residents of Azhikkal village in the city, the District Collector, P. Balakiran, issued a stop memo to the ship-breaking unit, Steel Industrial Kerala Ltd (SILK). Balakiran said the stop notice was issued because SILK failed to produce valid and legal license for their functioning. Jul 23, 2014

EBARA Corporation has installed four chillers, with each having a capacity of 3,516kw. It is equivalent to 1,000 units of the regular home air conditioners.
