Kolkata, April 01 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati lashed out at Congress-led UPA Government over its failure to curb increasing rate of unemployment, poverty and corruption in the country. Addressing a rally in Kolkata, she criticized the central government, saying its schemes to decrease burden on the common man has failed. She also launched an attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said that if Modi comes to power, the country would be 'forever gripped' in riots. CPI leader D Raja said that Gujarat government should take the moral responsibility and that Modi should understand the gravity of the incident that took place in 2002 and as the serving chief minister should take responsibility. Two Sikhs abducted in Pakistan returns home unharmed

Peshawar, March 25 (ANI): Two members of Pakistan’s Sikh community, who were kidnapped in northwest Pakistan last month, reached their home in Peshawar after being released by their abductors. The captives, Sawinder Singh and Anand Singh, were kidnapped by unknown assailants on February 11 from Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan’s restive northwest belt adjoining the lawless tribal region. Sawinder Singh said that he and his cousin had gone to DI Khan in connection with their herbal medicine business when they were kidnapped at gunpoint by masked gunmen riding motorbikes. Singh said the kidnappers were 10 in number who told them that there were some complaints against them and they would only be released if their ‘Amir’ (chief) was satisfied with their statements.
