Afghan boy Murtaza Ahmadi meets his football hero Lionel Messi

Murtaza Ahmadi became an online sensation after being pictured wearing a plastic bag mimicking Lionel Messi’s shirt, and now he has been able to meet his hero in Qatar. Murtaza met Messi before the game, was the mascot as Barcelona came out onto the pitch for a friendly against Al-Ahli Saudi FC, and even joined in on the team photograph. Murtaza had asked his father for a shirt like Messi’s, but it was outside the means of his family. So his family fashioned a shirt made out of a white and blue plastic bag to mimic the Argentina colours. Dec 14, 2016

Chapecoense plane crash survivor Alan Ruschel seen walking

Chapecoense defender Alan Ruschel has sent out a message of thanks for all the support he has received since the deadly plane crash in Colombia that killed 71 people. In the video message the player can be seen walking around the hospital room. It is reported that Ruschel, 27, one of six to survive the crash, had undergone spinal surgery but doctors say he is recovering well. Dec 8, 2016
