Budding Naga fashion designers showcase their talent at an event in Dimapur

Dimapur, Feb 10 (ANI): Celebrating ten years of its existence, the Dimapur-based Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) pledges to train and nurture the Northeast youth in fashion technology. Recently, the "Decade plus 1" founders day of the academy was celebrated at NIAPA campus in Dimapur. Actress and Member of Parliament, Moon Moon Sen inaugurated the event titled Decade plus1'. The budding designers from the Institute showcased their work as the kids walked the ramp in designer outfits. The academy regularly organizes many fashion shows, events, and seminars in India and abroad to showcase the skills of their students to a wider audience. In 2014, the students had presented a fashion show by designer Ikali Sukhalu at the Couture Fashion week in New York. Feb 10, 2015

Mumbai, Feb 08 (ANI): Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan inaugurated 'Kala Ghoda Arts Festival' in Mumbai. The 16th edition of the nine-day festival, in which one gets to see an array of events related to music, dance, literature, theatre, street stalls, films, workshops and heritage walks, is aimed at preserving the culture of Mumbai city. Abhishek Bachchan, who was accompanied by Bollywood debutant Akshara Haasan, substituted his father and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan who was to inaugurate the festival. Classical, folk artistes enthrall audience at cultural festival in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Feb 08 (ANI): The national festival of performing arts or ‘Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav’, to pay tribute to cultural heritage and various dance forms of the country, kicked off in Odisha. The three-day-long ‘Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav’ commenced at the foothills of Dhauli, considered the symbol of peace in Odisha, to mark the attainment of piousness by the famous King Asoka. The festival started off to a captivating and colourful Kathak performance, which is Odisha’s classical dance form, by Aditi Mangaldas. The performers enthralled audience at the festival with folk art forms, classical art forms and martial arts. The festival at Dhauli has been celebrating the country's legacy of cultural co-existence and also helped in increasing the tourism potential of the state. Feb 8, 2015
