India asks its airlines to avoid Ukraine after Malaysian plane crash

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Civil Aviation Minister, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, said on Friday that the country had issued an alert to its airlines to avoid Ukraine after the downing of a Malaysian airliner over the conflict ridden state's airspace with 298 passengers onboard. The Boeing 777, on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, came down in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, near the Russian border, on July 17, killing all 298 people on board. Meanwhile, Raju said in New Delhi that airlines were avoiding Ukraine after the crash. Meanwhile, Raju said there were no Indians on board on the ill fated Malaysian flight. Jul 18, 2014
