New Delhi, Oct 1 (ANI): While launching the 'Swachh Bharat' campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday invited nine people on the social media to join him in the movement. Modi said that he has invited Governor Mridula Sinha, Actor Priyanka Chopra, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Actor Salman Khan, Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani, Actor Kamal Haasan, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and the team of TV soap opera Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma to come to the public places and work towards a Clean India. Floods and sand deposits ruin farmer s crops in Amritsar

Amritsar, Sep 28 (ANI): Sand deposits left by the flooded river Ravi in fields leaves farmers’ crops damaged in Amritsar district of Punjab. Heavy rainfalls over-flooded the river on the border belt of Dera Baba Nanak and Ajnala sector, burring thousand acres of land. Farmers living in the area cultivate around 10,000 acres of fertile land which has been rendered useless for two to four years because of the sand deposits left by the river. A farmer Major Manmohan Singh said that his entire crop has been damaged. Reportedly, the farmers are asking for government’s help in removing the sand from their fields and provide electricity connections for tube wells so that the affected agricultural land could be made fit for cultivation. Reactions flow over PM Modi's UN General Assembly address

New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): Reactions flowed on Saturday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his first addressing speech in the United Nations General Assembly. Security Expert Uday Bhaskar said that Prime Minister gave a befitting and comprehensive reply to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's comment on Kashmir issue. Jammu and Kashmir's former DGP MM Khajuria said that Modi's address was a comprehensively thoughtful speech in the benefit of entire world. Meanwhile, former India diplomat NN Jha said that after Nawaz Sharif's comment on Kashmir issue it was a general opinion that India should ignore the matter but added that Modi addressed the issue in a very smart way. Indian experts condemn Pak PM after he raises Kashmir issue at UNGA

New York /New Delhi, Sept 27 (ANI): Indian experts condemned Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as he raked up Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly. Sharif on Friday raised the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly and blamed India for "another missed opportunity" to address outstanding issues by cancelling the foreign secretary-level talks. India's Foreign Policy expert Kamal Aga termed the move as unfortunate to raise sensitive issue in front of international community. Security Expert, Uday Bhaskar said that it should not come as surprise after India cancelled the foreign secretary level talks. He added that Pakistan was looking for an opportunity and the UNGA is an appropriate platform to raise the issue.
