Winter session of 15th Lok Sabha ends with positive note from Shinde

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): The winter session of 15th Lok Sabha ends on Friday with a positive speech by the Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. The day began with union minister Jairam Ramesh walking up to BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, with a handwritten thank you note for helping to pass the controversial bill creating Telangana as 29th state in the Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha was at its most peaceful when members assembled for farewell speeches. Shinde went out to compliment the opposition and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, who accepted it with a smile. New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): As the Telangana bill is to be tabled in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday after passing through the lower house of the Parliament, politicos react differently and remained skeptic about the bill. Jairam Ramesh bats for uniform minimum wages across country

New Delhi, Feb 2 (ANI): Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh, on Sunday backed the proposal to equate the wages for works under the central government-run employment scheme with the minimum wages prevailing in states. The minister said minimum wages in 14 states was more than remuneration paid for the work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). He said that state governments and the central governments should jointly determine it. MGNREGA is the biggest programme that guarantees 100 days of minimum work for poor people in rural areas.
